CONEX DOING MORE ON GREEN ISSUES

Conex is fully committed to achieving the highest standards of good environmental management on its Tipton HQ and to prove this the company has achieved certification under BS EN ISO 14001, the European standard governing the implementation of effective environmental management systems.
Group Quality Manager, Anil Sharma, has worked with every department in the business to ensure environmental management principles are at the heart of every aspect of the company’s activities. Certification to ISO14001 proves the company’s awareness of its environmental impacts and how these can be managed, controlled and minimised. It is an indication of the company’s commitment to improve environmental performance, and also has a significant impact on financial savings and compliance with legislation. It has enabled the company to meet the demands of some major customers and to increase it’s competitiveness in the market place. Work has now begun on rolling the system out to IBP Atcosa in Spain.
Anil Sharma commented, “Without the input of all staff within the company this accreditation would not have been achieved, and it is important that everyone continues to support our environmental systems so that we can continue to improve and maintain our certification status.”
The ISO 14001 certificate was presented to Anil Sharma (Group Quality Manager) by a BSI representative at Tipton at the end of last year. Anil was accompanied by Trevor Murch (Chief Executive) and Kester Vaughan (Group Operations Director).
